Uric acid in the blood
Elevated levels of uric acid (urate) can lead to or be a sign of gout and kidney stones, which can also strain the kidneys. Many people who get gout only experience symptoms when the disease has already started. Keeping track of their uric acid can therefore prevent both gout and kidney stones, but also other concerns that elevated uric acid levels can cause. Kidney stones can form due to elevated levels of urate. If these "stones" are small, they can pass out during urination, often with some pain. If they are too large, they become blocked and urine flows back into the ureters, bladder or urethra. This causes great pain. In addition to high levels of urate causing kidney stones, it can also cause gout. Simply put, gout is a joint inflammation that often comes in flare-ups. Pain occurs primarily in the joints, often in the big toe or elbow joint, but other joints are also common. The cause is crystals consisting of uric acid. It is quite common for joint pain to occur in connection with infection, a high-protein diet, and high alcohol consumption, but pain and discomfort can also occur in other cases.

Recommendation
Perform the test after approximately 12 hours of fasting, i.e. in the morning before breakfast. Then perform the test at approximately the same time and under the same conditions (fasting) on subsequent tests. Otherwise, the results may vary.So how does it work?

What is the code chip used for?
On 2 occasions: 1. Before testing, it is simply to "explain" to the X6 multitester that it should measure urate/uric acid, you only do this once if you are only testing for uric acid. 2. If you would like to test another parameter such as Lactate/lactic acid, this test's unique code chip should be used first, this way the X6 receives information that you are testing another parameter. The code chip can be reused.
